Taylor

Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a star who strayed completely from country music to pop culture and became the pop icon of the future that will last forever and conquering every corner of the globe. Swift left her country roots as if they were just a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest populist singer/songwriter of her generation someone who was able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. Swift's early tracks like the Neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. The second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be a songwriter finding her voice and a wider public. Fearless was a huge success worldwide and not just in North America (where it was certified six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift managed to build upon her popularity by releasing Speak Now almost two year after. The singer's popularity increased over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within an industry she felt was hers to be. While she reduced her work with folklore and Evermore albums in the year 2020, she was still leading the way in pop music.
